Notice of Data Security Incident

Posted July 17, 2026

The Association for Neurologically Impaired Brain Injured Children ("ANIBIC") is committed to protecting the privacy and security of the information in our care. On July 17, 2026, we began mailing notification letters to certain program members whose information was involved in a data security incident.

After becoming aware of suspicious activity in our computer network, we immediately began an investigation with assistance from third-party experts and notified law enforcement. The investigation determined that the unauthorized party accessed ANIBIC's systems between March 7, 2025 and March 8, 2026. Through this investigation, on May 18, 2026, we learned that the unauthorized party had accessed certain ANIBIC files that contained some program member information.

We reviewed the files involved and identified one or more files that contained program member information, including their names and one or more of the following: contact information, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, health insurance information, and service details such as medication information, and treatment and/or diagnostic information.

It is always a good idea for program members to remain vigilant and review statements received from their healthcare provider. If program members identify charges for services they did not receive, they should contact the healthcare provider immediately. Additionally, ANIBIC is offering complimentary identity monitoring services to program members whose Social Security numbers may have been involved.

We take this matter very seriously. To help prevent a similar incident, we will continue to implement and evaluate enhanced safeguards and security measures to further protect our systems, and continue to provide security training to our employees.

We have set up a designated incident response line to answer program member questions. Program members can call (844) 958-8914, Monday - Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Eastern Time, except for major U.S. holidays.
